What you would be doing…

The primary objective of this role is to support the recording, interpretation, analysis, and reporting on Group revenue performance. The role involves assisting in the Budgeting and Forecasting processes, while continually seeking opportunities for process enhancements and increased efficiency within the Finance team.

 

To do this, you would be responsible for….

Reporting and Analysis

  • Prepare and distribute monthly management accounts to SMT and budget holders in a timely manner, highlighting key information.
  • Assist with monthly revenue “closing activities” (e.g. - calculation of accrued/ deferred revenues), review trends, analyse variances and highlight risks and problem areas.
  • Providing timely responses to ad hoc requests for financial information/reports from management.
  • Assist with the development of new business models; reports; data extracts, “what if” analysis etc. as required.
  • Assist with the reconciliation of Balance Sheet accounts associated with Revenue lines for Group companies (as set out in respective B/S review packs).

Controlling

  • Assist in the co-ordination of budget and quarterly forecast activities and information from all budget holders.
  • Assist in the review, challenge and recording of budget and forecast assumptions.
  • Assist with preparation of data for monthly meetings with line of business managers to review actual performance against budget.
  • Issue and distribute budgets to all budget holders.

Data Integrity: Systems and Change Management

  • Maintain the integrity of data in the Accounting and CRM system.
  • Assist with coordinating systems enhancements/changes (e.g., Sage, Dynamics 365, etc).
  • Proactively keep abreast of all business activities so that impacts on accounting treatment & systems can be anticipated and systems modified, if necessary.
  • Assist with ensuring all relevant financial controls and regulatory reporting is embedded within the department.

Internal Communication

  • Proactively participate in meetings, as required, with the aim of building the financial knowledge and understanding of non-financial managers.
  • Always maintain good working relationships with other members of the Finance department, so that team morale and the appetite for sharing knowledge is enhanced.
