How to make the most out of your FAM Trip

Millie, a member of our marketing team, recently attended her first FAM trip to Sicily. Now, she's excited to pass on her top tips for making the most out of your next FAM trip experience. From networking strategies to creating engaging social media content, Millie shares all the essential advice to ensure that you make the most of your journey.

Immerse yourself to gain insights about the hotel.

Your FAM trip will include a tour of the venue where you'll be staying. Use this opportunity to familiarize yourself with various room types and the hotel layout. Explore all amenities on offer and remember to ask questions and jot down notes during this tour. Capture photographs of the hotel's highlights, from swimming pools to dining areas, these visuals will help bring the venue to life for potential clients.

Take advantage of your networking opportunities.

One of the great things about attending a FAM trip will be the networking opportunities. Engage in conversations with fellow attendees to learn about their areas of expertise, as well as which products or services they are selling most effectively. These interactions will enhance your FAM trip experience and allow you to make more connections within the industry, I met the most amazing people whilst I was away and gained so much knowledge from them!

Focusing on your social media presence is a fantastic way to keep your followers engaged and inspire bookings whilst you are on your FAM trip.

My top tip would be to get up early to take pictures of the venue during less busy times. Whilst I was away, I took short clips throughout the day and compiled them into one video. This highlight reel is an easy and effective way to showcase the venue and any places you visit.

Experiencing the local area in your free time, will boost your confidence and knowledge in the destination.

We hired a car for our FAM trip and it was one of the best things we could have done, it allowed us to explore some beautiful locations, not on our itinerary. It is good to know what the surrounding areas are like, when selling a venue. Take note of any beaches, sightseeing opportunities, beach clubs, restaurants, shops, petrol garages etc… This firsthand knowledge not only improves your sales pitch but also enhances your overall FAM trip experience by allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the destination's offerings.

Hotel staff are a great source of useful information, be sure to stop and have a chat.

During your stay, speak with hotel staff. They will know the most about the hotel and can give you any additional support with learning more about what the venue has to offer. Ask for contact details from the key members of staff such as the hotel manager so that you can get in touch once home with any further queries or requests.

All these tips are designed to raise your knowledge of not just the hotel, but the environment, excursions, dining options and overall vibe of the destination. Having your own pictures, videos, and hands-on experience with the locals will boost your customers confidence when booking with you and secure that sale.
