Leisure Director, Advantage
Currently Leisure Director for Advantage Travel Centres, Julia oversees the leisure travel function for Advantage Travel Centres.
Within Julia’s remit she is responsible for delivering best-in-class commercial and tactical arrangements across a wide portfolio of business partners, on behalf of around 750 member leisure outlets.
In a wide-ranging role, Julia is also involved in driving the cruise strategy which furnishes independent agents with exclusively negotiated special rates, offers and commercial benefits. Advantage generates circa £200m in cruise sales per annum - an increasingly important sector within the industry.
The Advantage Travel Gateway – a new multi-channel distribution technology providing members with access to aggregated leisure product was launched in 2010. Driven by Julia the Gateway is by far the single biggest project underway within Advantage and underpins the core leisure strategy across the business.
Having worked her way up to her current position, Julia has been at Advantage for 15 years.
After studying travel and tourism at college she started her travel career with a brief four months working overseas before joining WH Smith Travel for four years, until they were acquired by AT Mays, and latterly absorbed by Thomas Cook. Julia then held roles with Balkan Holidays and The Best Travel Group before joining Advantage.
